Nicolás Arízaga is an Ecuadorian-American political consultant, educator, and linguist (Spanish-ES<>English-EN) specializing in political-legal translation and interpretation, rhetoric, international affairs and development, policy and discourse analysis. Nicolás is the CEO of Political & Legal Translation in Denver, CO, and a Registered Court Interpreter for Spanish for the Wyoming Supreme Court. In addition to his language pair, Nicolás has studied French and Portuguese. He earned a bilingual bachelor’s degree in international studies from Universidad del Azuay in Ecuador and a bachelor’s and master’s degrees in political science from the University of Wyoming. Nicolás is pursuing a Graduate Certificate in Public Policy Analysis at the University of Colorado Denver. He is a member of the Leadership Council and the Podcast Editor at the Spanish Language Division (SPD) of the American Translators Association (ATA), he is a director for the Colorado Association of Professional Interpreters (CAPI), and the Social Media Coordinator at the Colorado Translators Association (CTA). He is a member of the American Association of Political Consultants (AAPC), the National Association of Judiciary Interpreters and Translators (NAJIT), the U.S. Department of State Alumni Network, The National Political Science Honor Society, Pi Sigma Alpha, and the Honor Society for International Studies, Sigma Iota Rho.
